In the peaceful surroundings of Wilderness Orchard, a Three-striped Palm Squirrel (Funambulus palmarum) pauses for a feast of wild Gular or cluster figs (Ficus racemosa). Perched comfortably amidst nature, the little squirrel delicately holds its food between its tiny paws, nibbling with remarkable care and elegance. Its distinctive pale stripes stand out against its soft grey-brown fur, while its bushy tail rests nearby like a feathery plume. Every movement is gentle and deliberate as it savors each bite, occasionally pausing to glance around before returning to its feast. There is a simple beauty in these everyday moments of wildlife. No rush, no drama—just a small creature enjoying the gifts of nature in the calm embrace of the orchard.
