Unless one is a bird watcher and live among birds, it is not very common to spot a bird feeding on its prey. Is the badius (Accipiter badius!) behaving badly or just doing it's thing and feeding itself? Watch this male Shikra pouncing on a Five-striped Palm squirrel in real time. The squirrel struggles under the claws od its predator before it gives up and the raptor succeeds in subduing its prey. The raptor is filmed enjoying the head of the squirrel. Nearly four minutes of pure adrenaline and action. The Shikra (Accipiter badius) is a small bird of prey in the family Accipitridae found widely distributed in Asia and Africa where it is also called the little banded goshawk. The African forms may represent a separate species but have usually been considered as subspecies of the shikra. The
