It is one of those rarely seen wonders of nature which are rarely seen by just a few, among the freezing high altitude rocks of the Garhwal Himalaya. A Thylacospermum caespitosum cushion sits on a rock at the Chhaian Gad valley as filmed in the winter. Thylacospermum caespitosum is found in high altitude alpine regions with extreme weather conditions. Just how does this plant get its nutrition in such sub-zero temperatures and with barely any (if any at all!) soil beneath its roots?
