With a Hill Barbet and a Blue-throated Barbet calling, and a Rufous Sibia too, a Grey-winged Blackbird takes full advantage of the display of Rhododendron flower heads before it, above our Bindal stream at Motidhar Estate in Mussoorie. The Grey-winged Blackbird is otherwise one of the Himalaya's best songsters, but here it sits in silence, as it steals Rhododendron sap and nectar from within the petals of this tree's blooms, at our wildfilmsindia sanctuary in the Uttarakhand Himalaya, in April 2021. Grey-winged Blackbird is a smart well dressed thrush-like bird, with the nicest most melodious calls.
