A fabulous aerial 360 degree view of Chandrashila peak top above Tungnath temple in Uttarakhand. This is a popular temple trek from Chopta town lower down, which takes one through juniper and dwarf Rhododendron shrub forests higher up and above the tree line, and thicker evergreen and deciduous forests above the town of Chopta. There is a clear cemented walking track to the peak. In season, one can also see herds of Thar or wildlife mountain goats on the northern cliffs. A superb view of the Himalayan peaks of Garhwal can be had from here, including the peaks of Chaukhamba and the ranges around it. Rugged Himalayan country at its best...
