High in the Garhwal Himalayas, a vibrant religious yatra unfolds near Tungnath Mahadev Temple in Chopta, Uttarakhand. At the heart of the gathering stands a beautifully decorated metallic palanquin (doli), draped in bright yellow and red cloth, symbolizing devotion and divine presence. Devotees gather around it with deep reverence—bowing, touching the shrine, and offering prayers to Lord Shiva. The atmosphere is spiritually charged as traditional dhol rhythms echo through the mountains. Two men in the foreground actively play hand drums, their beats guiding the procession and energizing the devotees.
