Looks like we have a winner after weeks of struggle, vigilance, demolition between a Common Myna and Grey Hornbill couple. The Indian Grey Hornbill male removes trash that the Common Myna has put inside the hollow tree trunk. The female also puts out scraps of paper and dried grass with its beak and settles inside the hollow. The male can be seen carrying what looks like dried mud into the hollow in an attempt to seal the hollow. The male will use its saliva to stick the mud together and allow for only enough space to feed the female.
