This macro wildlife footage features an Apple Hawkmoth (Langia zenzeroides) resting motionless on a reddish-brown textured rock. Its broad forewings display a distinctive leaden-grey costal area, finely speckled with black markings and darker grey patches along the outer margins. The moth's characteristic jagged, serrated wing edges enhance its camouflage, allowing it to blend seamlessly with the rocky surface. Remaining perfectly still, the hawkmoth relies on its cryptic colouration for protection while revealing the intricate patterns and textures that make this species one of the most striking members of the hawkmoth family.
