A large flock of Demoiselle Cranes (Anthropoides virgo) gathers on dry, open ground in Rajasthan, India. The birds move in tightly packed groups across the landscape, walking among each other and repeatedly lowering their heads to forage on the ground. Their elegant grey plumage, black neck and chest markings, white facial patches, and long dark legs are clearly visible as they shift positions within the flock. Above the ground activity, several cranes are seen soaring through the sky, gliding over the landscape and adding dynamic movement overhead. This contrast between grounded foraging and aerial flight highlights the species’ coordinated flock behavior. The scene is accompanied by natural ambient bird calls and outdoor environmental sounds.
