Cyclone Amphan in May 2020 left West Bengal and other coastal areas in the Bay of Bengal with destruction and loss of lives. Farmers in this rural area in Medinipur are outside their homes which were destroyed by the powerful cyclone. Uprooted trees on top of houses and houses without roofs are rampant. Residents speak of the natural calamity that hit their village to the media.
