This Five-striped Palm Squirrel may look cure as it eats this langda mango that it has dropped from our tree, but the number of squirrels at work on the mangos, and their quick multiplication (as they are essentially rats and can breed very fast!) means that over 80% of our mango crop is eaten up by parakeets, macaques and squirrels, leaving very little for the orchard owner who invests so much money and effort in crop protection.
