The Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir tableaux move along Rajpath, now Kartavya Path, during the 71st Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on January 26, 2020. The Punjab tableau commemorates the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and features golden domes inspired by Sri Harmandir Sahib, along with a sculpted hand holding prayer beads. Performers in traditional white kurtas, orange turbans and sashes accompany the tableau along the parade route. The Jammu and Kashmir tableau highlights the Back to Village programme, featuring a large sculpture of a Kashmiri shawl weaver, a traditional wooden house and representations of regional village life. Crowded spectator stands, Indian national flags and other parade tableaux form the backdrop as both state tableaux proceed along the ceremonial rou
