Ghanta Ghar clock tower in the city where the 1857 Mutiny started, in Uttar Pradesh and close to the city of Delhi. This is the heart of the old British Raj and now a modern but crowded bustling city. Netaji Subhash Chand Bose gave a speech to Indians, in regard to independence from here. It was built-in 1913 in the British period. This clock was installed in 1914. The speciality of this clock tower (Ghanta Ghar) is that the sound of the pendulum reaches the distance of fifteen kilometers. Abdul Azeez was the caretaker of this clock tower and even now his next generation takes care of it. As you can see the area is quite congested with traffic and the vendors; this is a very busy road in Meerut. This area looks quite old compared to other areas in Meerut.
