This footage captures two remarkable stages in the life cycle of moths and butterflies on the same plant. A Red Hairy Caterpillar, the larval stage of a tiger moth (Amsacta or Spilarctia species), actively feeds on the tender young leaves and soft stems. Covered in dense reddish-brown hairs, the caterpillar steadily munches through the fresh foliage, demonstrating the voracious feeding behaviour typical of this growth stage. Nearby, attached securely to the plant stem, hangs the mature Common Evening Brown (Melanitis leda) butterfly chrysalis. The pupa remains perfectly still as it undergoes metamorphosis, transforming into an adult butterfly before emergence. Together, the feeding caterpillar and the motionless chrysalis beautifully illustrate two distinct developmental stages of insects,
