A mountain road winds through the rugged landscape of Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand, on the route towards Darma Valley. Elagaad Waterfall, also known as Ranthi or Tawaghat Waterfall, cascades down a steep rocky cliff beside the highway, surrounded by green slopes, exposed rock faces and deep Himalayan valleys. The route passes through several narrow and rugged sections, with mountain roads carved into steep slopes, bridges, roadside checkpoints and areas affected by landslides. Small buildings, parked vehicles and utility poles can be seen along the road as it continues deeper into the mountains.
