Note the open pneumostome on the slug! Slugs are types of snails without the armour or cover shells. It is a gastropod mollusc which eats on dead leaves, fungus, and decaying vegetable material. Other species eat parts of living plants while some slugs are predators that eat other slugs, snails, or earthworms. The incredible fact about slugs are that they have both female and male reproductive organs which means slugs are hermaphrodites.
