We spotted this Spotted Munia in our Delhi garden one monsoon day this week, as a surprise. They don't normally venture our way, but the monsoon weather and tall grasses have undoubtedly made it attractive for them to visit us now... We are improving our birding profile each year, at the Wilderness Orchard in Delhi! The Spotted Munia is a fine grassland bird but please do not cage them! They are often caught and sold as cage birds. It is no fun for these birds to live within a small space. They love to fly and venture far afield! The Munia is vocalizing but among all the other bird call one can barely hear its call...
