Lovely forested roads lead to super crowded bazaars teeming with tourists from the plains. Where will all the water come from, for their summer-time needs? Water tanks aplenty on top of every shop and hotel, but where is the summer-time off-season water to fill into these tanks? Dhanaulti started out as a sleepy Himalayan town. It has burgeoned into a crowded busy town with a shortage of water, entirely catering to budget tourists from the plains. Constructions spill over onto the road, and every inch of space has been utilized for restaurants and hotels that lie vacant during the lengthy Corona shutdown in the hills.
