Surkhanda Devi Temple on the Mussoorie - Dhanolti road, in mid-winter snowfall cover. The over 9000 foot high mountain has a temple that has grown considerably in recent years, although it used to be a small, modest beautiful affair many years back. Tourism traffic and bucks have increased and so has the pressure on the temple and the small township that has developed below it, on the road. The golden pillars, for example, neither comprise of Garhwali temple architecture not have anything traditional about them...
