A young bride and her mother tend to their potato field in Bantoli village in the Kedarnath - Madhyamaheshwar region in Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The younger woman is digging out the spuds and clearing the grasses and other undergrowth to feed to the pigs. The potatoes are set aside and will be taken home to last them through the winter months. This tiny village lies on the seldom used pilgrimage trail in the inner western Himalaya.
