With the cicadas calling, it's time to harvest the potatoes! Sacks are filled and despatched back to the village, for use through the winter months and some cash crop sales in the local village market. A happy rural village scene from inner Uttarakhand! This must be a hard-worked but blissful existence. Cicadas are calling, there's enough tree cover and it seems to be oak so clearly they have enough water too! The 'hal' runs through the soft but dry and productive soil, and the village farmer is hard at work, preparing for the new farming season in the hills! This happy little village is located on the trekking route to Gidara in Uttarakhand.
