A peaceful wetland scene at Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur, Rajasthan, where a Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) and at least two Great Cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) rest on a dense patch of aquatic vegetation. The Grey Heron perches prominently atop the brush, remaining alert while surveying the surrounding water. Nearby, one cormorant stands on a partially submerged log, while another spreads its wings wide, a characteristic behaviour that helps dry its feathers after diving for fish. Calm waters and lush vegetation provide an ideal habitat for these waterbirds, highlighting the rich birdlife thriving around this famous artificial lake.
