A large congregation of Demoiselle Cranes (Anthropoides virgo) at the Pakshi Chugga Ghar in Khichan village, Rajasthan, India. Thousands of migratory cranes, locally known as Kurja, gather on the designated feeding grounds within the Thar Desert region. The birds are identifiable by their grey plumage, black necks and chests, and distinctive white feather tufts extending from the head. Traditional sandstone buildings of Khichan village form part of the backdrop to this internationally recognized bird conservation site. The footage documents the daily feeding activity during which grain is distributed for the visiting migratory cranes. The video highlights the long-standing relationship between local communities and migratory bird conservation in western Rajasthan.
