A cautious alert Kakar or Barking Deer steps forth through the open oak forest, followed shortly after by a younger female and then a young male Barker Muntjac. The white-fringed brown tail is noteworthy on the kakar. First a male Kalij Pheasant and then a female are caught in our wildfilmsindia forest camera traps in the Himalaya, as they walk down the oak forested hill. Soon they rush back up the hill, no doubt disturbed by some predator or human presence. A White-throated Laughing Thrush forages among the dry oak leaves for insect matter.
