A pair of Grey Francolins is perched quietly on a tree branch, their finely barred brown-and-buff plumage blending seamlessly with the dry woodland surroundings. Though typically ground-dwelling birds of scrub and open countryside, they occasionally take to low branches for vigilance and rest.
