Wetland birds along the Yamuna River in New Delhi. A group of wading and shorebirds resting and foraging along the muddy banks of the Yamuna River in Delhi. Among the birds visible are elegant Black-winged Stilts, recognized by their slender black-and-white bodies and exceptionally long pink legs, alongside Red-wattled Lapwings known for their striking black heads, white neck markings, and distinctive red facial wattles. The Yamuna floodplains serve as an important habitat for both resident and migratory bird species, especially during the winter season when many waterbirds arrive from different parts of Asia.
