Stalls on the streets of Meerut with colourful Rakhis or threads for sale as the Raksha Bandhan festival approaches. Shutters of most business establishments are closed due to the Coronavirus lockdown. Even customers are scarce in the few stalls selling the rakhis. A couple of women are seen in one of the shops trying to pick a favourable design and colour. Rakhi is celebrated by Hindus in India and other HIndu populations. It is an important festival for brothers and sisters. During this festival sisters tie a thread or bracelet like thread to the brother's wrist after prayers as a sign of love and blessings.
