An extended family of blacksmiths living on the footpath in makeshift homes in Meerut. As the older boys and fathers are seen making horse shoes out of wrought iron, the children are prancing in front of the camera. Women and children sit on the Charpai or cot in front of their houses and selling the crockery made by the men. Seen in colourful clothing, the women shield their faces with the dupatta and are grooming the younger girls.
