From the archive record

A motorcycle journey covers the streets of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, during the COVID-19 lockdown on 14 May 2021. An almost empty city, with a few people, motorcycles, bicycles, buses, and handcarts visible along the roads. A central roundabout with a religious shrine, local shops, overhead power lines, and a police checkpoint with barricades are seen along the route. The largely deserted streets reflect the restricted movement during the lockdown period.
