The Eurasian Jay (Himalayan) Red-crowned Jay - Garrulus glandarius has a lovely blue and black speckled wing patch. Hear the lovely mountain forest cacophony of bird calls from all directions. What a lovely cacophony of calls - the Hill Barbet of the higher hills clashes with the Blue-throated Barbet of the dooars and terai, but they actually meld together beautifully. What smart colours - the light rufous with the blue wing patch! See the lovely grey and speckled eggs inside the nest made of rootlets. The male Jay feeds the female a juicy morsel, in a form of courtship. They both then descend on a patch of flowering clover for furtherance of their courtship...
