Our Jay couple collect rootlets from the ground, in order to create their nest's foundation. They hop at the base of a couple of Oak trees and collect disconnected rootlets that have been released by the trees. Eurasian Jay (Himalayan) Garrulus glandarius [bispecularis Group]. The Eurasian jay (Garrulus glandarius) spp. bispecularis is a species of passerine bird in the family Corvidae.
