A hailstorm during rainfall captured in Motidhar Mussoorie. Hail, known in Hindi as Olavrishti, occurs when strong updrafts inside thunderstorm clouds carry raindrops upward into very cold areas of the atmosphere where they freeze into ice. These ice particles grow larger as they collide with supercooled water droplets and eventually fall to the ground as hailstones. Mountain regions of Uttarakhand, especially areas around Mussoorie, often experience sudden weather changes during storms, including rain, fog, and occasional hailfall. This video captures the moment when hailstones begin falling during rainfall in the forest landscape of Motidhar. Events like this show the dynamic weather patterns of the Himalayan foothills and the natural environment surrounding Mussoorie’s forests and hills
