A male Chestnut-bellied Rock Thrush perched on a branch in Jabbarkhet. The bird displays deep blue coloration on the head, back, and wings, contrasting with bright orange-chestnut underparts and a darker facial area. It is shown in an upright posture commonly used by the species while scanning surroundings for prey. Chestnut-bellied Rock Thrushes inhabit temperate forests, rocky slopes, and montane habitats across the Himalayan region and parts of Southeast Asia. In India, they are regularly observed in hill forests and high-altitude woodland environments. The video documents the appearance and perching behavior of this Himalayan bird species in the Mussoorie region.
