Beru Pako is an old Garhwali-Kumaoni hill song cum tune from the Uttarakhand hills, about the Himalayan Hawk Cuckoo bird singing about the kaphal berries being ready and ripe to eat. Here, it is played by a mountain regiment of the Indian Army. Republic Day is the name of a holiday in several countries to commemorate the day when they became republics. In India, Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into force--on 26 January 1950--replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India. It is one of three national holidays in India.
