From the archive record

A large contingent of Indian Armed Forces personnel marches in formation along Kartavya Path, formerly known as Rajpath, in New Delhi during a Republic Day parade event. The soldiers wear ceremonial uniforms with khaki tunics, dark trousers, white belts and white gaiters. Officers lead the formation as the contingent advances in coordinated steps along the ceremonial boulevard. Spectators fill the grandstands on both sides of the route, while security personnel stand along the road. A state or ministry tableau is visible further along the parade route, with Indian national flags displayed nearby.
