Free-wheeling Pariah Kites - raptors in their own right - but otherwise also the most urban and scavenging ones in India, are seen here in the Rajasthan desert sky. They perform fantastic aerial manoeuvres as they ride the monsoon thermals. Soaring in from all directions, the black pariah kites are the protectors of Jodhpur Marwar. 'Amba's Kites' as described in Maharaj Prem's poetry are fed every day by Lateef. He walks up to the fort every day at 1 PM.
