Luscinia pectoralis is the more complicated Latin name of this White-tailed Rubythroat which we filmed along the Jallandhri Garh torrent in the upper Harsil valley of Uttarakhand in the western Himalaya. This beautiful bird was sitting on a rock and calling in a somewhat shrill fashion.. It breeds in the Himalaya itself but winters in the foothills and even occasionally in the north-east of India.
