Mountain landscapes of Ladakh, India, a remote high-altitude cold desert located in the northern Himalayas. Towering snow-capped peaks dominate the horizon, likely belonging to the Ladakh or Zanskar mountain ranges, which rise to elevations of around 6,000 meters above sea level. Below the snowline, the rugged brown slopes and barren valleys reflect the harsh arid environment of Ladakh. The region receives very little rainfall because of the Himalayan rain shadow effect, which blocks monsoon clouds from reaching these high-altitude desert landscapes. Warm sunlight illuminating the mountain peaks suggests the scene was filmed during golden hour, either at sunrise or sunset, when the Himalayan terrain glows with dramatic colors and long shadows.
