This powerful wildlife footage, filmed during the winter of 2024–25 along the Yamuna River bank in Delhi, captures an Indian Cormorant (Phalacrocorax fuscicollis) hunting for food amid alarming river pollution. Thick layers of white toxic foam, caused by untreated sewage and chemical discharge, blanket the surface of the river, clearly illustrating the degraded condition of this major waterway. Despite the heavily polluted surroundings, the Indian Cormorant is seen successfully catching a fish from the contaminated water. The bird then moves to the riverbank, where it consumes its prey, offering a striking and unsettling contrast between wildlife resilience and human-induced environmental damage.
