An Indian palm squirrel (Funambulus palmarum) is observed gripping a piece of chapati or cracker while positioned against the rough bark of a tree. The squirrel holds the food with its forelimbs and remains oriented in an opposite or downward-facing position on the trunk. It nibbles continuously, using its incisors to break small portions from the food. The rough texture of the bark provides support and grip during feeding. The scene captures the typical feeding behaviour and climbing ability of this small rodent species in a natural setting.
