An Asian Koel is perched on a diagonal tree branch within the dense foliage of a wilderness orchard habitat. The bird pauses alertly while observing its surroundings from an elevated position among the leaves. Its partially open beak and visibly vibrating throat indicate active vocalisation, a behaviour commonly associated with the species' distinctive calls. The glossy dark plumage and striking red eye of the Asian Koel stand out against the surrounding green vegetation. The bird remains balanced on the branch while scanning nearby areas between calling sequences.
