An adult solo elephant runs amok in the middle of a town in West Bengal at night and bulldozes down two electricity poles while locals try to chase it off. Locals can be seen running with torches and trying to shoo off the elephant with their noises. At another incident, locals at a village wake up to a mother elephant's carcass. The carcass lay in a patch of grass near the street. Hundreds are in attendance to watch the carcass as forest rangers are called. The locals light a small religious ritual for the mother elephant.
