Forest department personnel and wildlife NGO's run a campaign to sensitive locals and inter-state drivers about the perils of fast driving on highways that run through wildlife preserves such as Kaziranga National Park in Assam, at the cost of road-kill of rare species of north-east Indian wildlife. The Kaziranga Wildlife Patrol carry along specimens of recently-killed Hog Deer and other animals, to show the pathetic and sad loss of rare wildlife. The carcasses are mounted onto the bonnets of jeeps and carried around as decapitated dead deer... Driving along the inter-state highways of Assam with villagers crowding around the dead wildlife specimens, as the jeeps go around with loud speakers announcing their message...
