Chakrata is a small town ,in Uttarakhand, which is at a distance about 92 kms from Dehradun. Its at the elevation of 5500-6500 feet from the sea level. It is 73 kms away from Mussoorie which is a well known hill station in uttarakhand. The previous name was Jaunsar Bawar.The main population is Jaunsari tribes, that's why it was known Jaunsar Bawar in earlier. It is a cantonment town and the commandos of the special forces are trained here. Chakrata is ideal place for adventure lovers, nature lovers, couples and family vacation.As its not crowed with tourists one can get relaxed and can enjoy unspoiled, serene beauty of this place.
