Kiangs, also known as Tibetan Wild Asses (Equus kiang), are observed moving in herds across open landscapes in the trans-Himalayan region of Ladakh, India. These large wild equids display a reddish-brown upper body with white underparts, a characteristic feature of the species. The animals move in coordinated groups across grasslands and sandy tablelands, often near high-altitude lakes within the Changthang Wildlife Sanctuary. Their movement reflects adaptation to low-oxygen, cold desert environments. Herd structure varies from small groups to larger aggregations depending on habitat conditions.
