The Kiang (Equus kiang), also known as the Tibetan wild ass, is seen moving across the rugged terrain of Ladakh. Adapted to high-altitude environments, this sturdy wild equid is well suited to the region's cold desert conditions. It has a rich chestnut-brown coat with a lighter underside, helping it blend into the barren hills and open plains. Often found in small groups, the Kiang grazes on sparse vegetation while remaining alert in its vast, open habitat. The surrounding landscape of rocky hills and expansive horizons highlights the harsh yet striking beauty of Ladakh. This scene captures a glimpse of wildlife thriving in one of the most extreme and remote ecosystems of the Himalayas.
