A pair of Rufous-necked Laughingthrush resting on a dry branch within a scrubby woodland environment. These striking birds are recognized for their dark grey plumage, bold black facial masks, and vivid rufous-orange patches along the sides of their necks. Known for their highly social and vocal behavior, Rufous-necked Laughingthrushes are often observed moving together in noisy groups through dense vegetation, forest edges, reedbeds, and riverine habitats. Their active movements and constant calls make them one of the more noticeable bird species in subtropical woodland ecosystems.
