The complete process of apple picking to packing is carried out within the apple orchards of Kashmir. Even the wooden crates in which apples are packed are made in the apple orchard itself. Gulab Bagh in Ganderbal District is one of the nearest places to Srinagar apart from Budgam for seeing the apple picking, sorting and packing process. Soil, climate and environment are the most vital factors of apple cultivation. Output from any cultivation directly depends on these three factors.
