Gulab Bagh in Ganderbal district is an important area near Srinagar apart from Budgam with a sizeable number of apple orchards. Apple picking season begins in the beginning of October and generally lasts upto the first week of November. Apples are packed into crates at the orchard itself and loaded onto trucks for transportation to markets.
