The Shivaliks are the youngest mountain range of the Himalayas which extends southwest from Sikkim to Nepal and Uttarakhand, continuing into Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. It cuts through at wide intervals by southbound flowing large rivers from the Himalayas. An intimate look at the rather distinct identify of the Shivaliks as a mountain range in their own right. This documentary centers around the breeding of the beautiful Paradise Flycatcher (Terpsiphone paradisi), perhaps the most beautiful bird to be found in India. Filmed in a variety of situations in the forest and at the nest, we have used a new technique of remotely-operated cameras to ensure that the birds were not disturbed at the nest.
